The department of psychology was established in 1972, and for many years it trained the only psychologists with a wide profile in the region of Central Asia and Kazakhstan.
The services of the head of the department, professor Mahamad Vahidovich Vahidov, were invaluable in opening the department of psychology. By 1990, about 800 specialists graduated from the department of psychology. Among the graduates V.M. Karimova and F.R. Abdurakhmanov, I.E. A number of scientists, such as Khudoyberdiev, defended their doctoral theses. Most of the graduates are currently working in various sectors of the national economy and in the management system of our government.
Students from countries such as Cuba, Nicaragua, Mexico, Vietnam, Laos, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Arab Republic of Egypt, Angola, Mali, as well as almost all republics of the Former Union studied at the department. The department trained more than 150 specialists for foreign countries.
Until 1976, the department of psychology was called “Logic and psychology” and operated within the faculties of philology and history. In 1976, it was transformed into a separate “Department of Psychology”.
B.F. from scientific centers such as Moscow, Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Novosibirsk to the students of the department. Lomov, G.M. Andreeva, K. Wecker, K.M. Gurevich, I.V. Ravich-Sherba, L.A. Petrovskaya, T.V. Kudryasev, A.M. Matyushkin, N.N. Potential professors like Danilova gave lectures.
During 2002-2010, Gaziev Ergash Gazievich worked as the head of the Department of “Social Psychology” at Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek).
Currently, the Specialized Scientific Council for the defense of the scientific degree of candidate of psychology works under the department.
