In Uzbekistan, ethics and aesthetics in the world language have been serving the development of society and the stability of the state for centuries. In the development of these sciences, the services of philosophers, literary critics, and art critics can be highlighted. Academician Ibrahim Mominov contributed greatly to the further development of these sciences in our country. Ibrahim Mominov established the department of aesthetics in the system of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan from the 60s. The first graduate students were accepted there, and a number of young people were sent to study in Moscow. Students who studied in Moscow successfully defended their candidate’s theses written in the combination of aesthetics, philosophy, art history.
Taking into account the need for the sciences of ethics and aesthetics in our country, in 1986, a separate interfaculty “Ethics and Aesthetics” chair was established at Tashkent State University.
During his more than twenty years of work, the department was first attended by candidate of philology, associate professor Hojimurad Rasulov (1986-1988), then doctor of philosophy, professor Mahmudjon Nurmatov (1988-1993), candidate of philosophy, associate professor Ibodulla Ergashev (1993-1994). ), Candidate of Philological Sciences, People’s Writer of Uzbekistan Muhammad Ali (1994-1996), Associate Professor Abdulla Sher (1996-1997), Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Erkin Umarov (1997-2002), Associate Professor Abdulla Sher (2004-2005) yy), Doctor of Philosophy Oknazar Gurbanmamadov (2005-2006), Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor Husanov Bahadir (2006-2017) were the leaders. Since the academic year of 2017, the department has been headed by the candidate of philosophy sciences, professor La’likhon Ashuralievna Muhammadjonova.
The department started its activity with 7 teachers, and today 9 professors-teachers are working in 7 state units. Among them, 3 candidates of sciences, 3 PhDs, 3 senior teachers, 2 teachers and 1 intern-researcher-researcher and 3 senior researchers are working.
The achievement of independence of our country created wide opportunities for scientific research in the field of aesthetics and ethics. Currently, scientific research is being carried out on the basis of an intern-researcher-researcher and a senior researcher on the specialty of 09.00.04-Esthetics. In 2000, 5A220303-Esthetics specialty, and in 2005, 5A 220304-Ethics specialty was opened. In 2011, these specialties were combined, 5A 120503-Ethics and aesthetics specialty was opened and talented students were admitted to it. Since 2020, all branches have joined together to open the specialty 5A120501 Philosophy (by branches) and talented students have been admitted to it.
