Today, on April 26, an international conference on “Sustainable development goals: foreign experience and practice of Uzbekistan” was held in connection with “April 22 – International Earth Day” at the National University of Uzbekistan.
This conference was attended by representatives of a number of countries, including Turkey, France, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Tajikistan and international organizations, as well as Uzbek scientists working abroad.
At the beginning of the event, Yaqub Ergashov, vice-rector for scientific affairs and innovations of the National University of Uzbekistan, and Boriy Alikhanov, chairman of the Committee on Development of the Oliy Majlis of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, made a speech and spoke about the existing environmental problems in our country and in the region. they stopped.
“It is extremely necessary to solve the urgent environmental problems facing Uzbekistan and the Central Asian region. One of the most pressing issues is water scarcity caused by climate change, unsustainable agricultural practices, and poor water management. The drying up of the Aral Sea, which was once one of the largest inland water bodies in the world, is a clear reminder of the consequences of mismanagement and overuse of water resources.
During the event, lectures of local and foreign scientists were heard, and the awarding ceremony of the winners of the competition “The best scientific work of young scientists” was held.
The conference covered all areas of science and education. The purpose of the conference was to identify ideas that ensure the development of science and education based on the goals of sustainable development established by the United Nations, to create a wide opportunity for the development and integration of modern mechanisms.
