In Uzbekistan, the National University of Uzbekistan became the foundation of the world-famous scientific school on the theory of probability and mathematical statistics. Theoretical and practical research in this field of mathematics began with the establishment of the university, which was founded by the famous mathematician Vsevolod Ivanovich Romanovsky (1879-1954).
Famous academic scientists Tashmuhammad Alievich Sarimsakov (1915-1995), Sa`di Hasanovich Sirojiddinov (1920-1988) created their scientific school of probability theory and mathematical statistics.
The activity of Academician S.Kh.Sirojiddinov’s scientific school of probability theory and mathematical statistics in recent years has been developing in Uzbekistan in connection with the names of his students-academicians T.A.Azlarov and Sh.Q.Farmonov.
The Department of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics is the leader in the republic in terms of training specialists. Every year, 12-13 bachelors and 8 graduate students graduate from the department.
