The department began its activity under the name “Mathematics of Computation”, and in 1959-1967 it was joined by associate professor A.P. Domoryad, in 1971-1979 by associate professor G.S. Salikhov, in 1980-1993 by associate professor Z.J. Jamolov, and in 1993-1995 by academician T.A. Azlarov, In 1995-2011, professor Kha.A. Muzaffarov headed the department.
    In 2012-2018, professor R.D. Aloev headed the department. At the department, scientific research works were carried out in the direction of “Construction of adequate calculation models for mixed problems of hyperbolic systems” and “Information systems of educational process management”.

• Since 1998, the department has been named “Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling” department.
• From 02-09-2002, the department was named “Computation methods in parallel technologies” department.
• From 30-05-2008, the department was named “Computing technologies and mathematical modeling” department.
• Since 2015, the department has been named “Computing technologies and information systems”.

    From May 25, 2016 to October 6, 2018, the “Computing technologies and information systems” and “Information security” departments jointly operated under the name “Mathematical modeling and cryptanalysis”.
In 2018, the department was divided into two departments: “Computational mathematics and information systems” and “Information security”. Since October 6, 2018, the Department of “Computational Mathematics and Information Systems” has been headed by Associate Professor Mirzoali Orazalievich Khudoyberganov. Currently, the department has 14 full-time professors – R.D. Aloev, A.S. Rasulov, I. Khojaev, D.T. Mukhammedieva, A.R. Khayotov, L.P. Varlamova, associate professor S.A. Bakhramov, D.M. Akhmedov, A.Q. Boltaev and senior teacher O.N. Abdurakhmonov, teachers D. Riksiboev, E. Samandarov, A. Kakhorov, D.E. Ne’matova, O.A. Kabilova are working.
    At present, the department includes Putra University of Malaysia, MARA University of Technology of Malaysia, Terengganu University of Malaysia, University of Islamic Science of Malaysia, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, National Pedagogical University of Kazakhstan named after Abay, Republic of Kazakhstan International Information University of Technology, established cooperation relations with Kazakhstan National University named after Al-Farabi. Scientific and research work is being carried out in cooperation with the involvement of professors and teachers of these educational institutions in the educational process. Joint monographs and scientific articles are being published in Scopus and Web of Science journals.
    The teachers of the department Kh.Kh.Mamatova and Sh.B.Zhoraev were accepted to study at the University of Terengganu, Malaysia. They were joined by Professor R. D. Aloev, Ph.D. and Ph.D. from the National University of Uzbekistan. Z.K. Eshkuvatovlar, Dr. from Malaysia. Nor Ilyani Binti Abdullah is in charge.
