The Department of Regional Economy and Management is one of the leading departments preparing highly qualified personnel for the economy of our republic. The department is formed on the basis of two departments of Management and Regional Economy. The Department of Management was originally established in 1991 under the name of the Department of Economics and Production Management. Since 1998, the name of the department has been called Management.
    In 1991-2002, Professor Mukhiddinov Renat Muzaffarovich, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor Sodikova Iroda Anvarovna, Candidate of Economics in 2002-2005, Mamatov Akhmadjon Atajdanovich, Doctor of Economics in 2006-2011 headed the Department of Management.
    The Department of Regional Economy was established under the name of the Department of Regional Economics and Industry Economy in accordance with the order of the rector of the National University of Uzbekistan No. 01-381 dated June 15, 2002. Then, based on the order of the rector of the university on June 29, 2005, it was transformed into the Department of Regional Economy. In 2002-2011, the department was headed by Doctor of Geography, Professor Kayumov Abduhakim Abduhamidovich.
    In 2011, the Department of Regional Economy was established on the basis of the Departments of Management and Regional Economy. , associate professor Rakhmanov Rasul Ne’matovich, candidate of economic sciences in 2017-2018, associate professor Hashimov Pazlidin Zukurovich, doctor of economic sciences in 2018-2021, professor Sodikov Avaz Madaminovich. From December 1, 2021, the department is headed by Tagaev Bekzod Ergashevich, Doctor of Economic Sciences.
