International conference on “Climate Change and its Impact on the Environment: Problems and Solutions”

Today, October 28, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Climate Change and Its Impact on the Environment: Problems and Their Solutions” began its work at the National University of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of this prestigious conference is to discuss the results of scientific research conducted in the Republic of Uzbekistan and foreign countries within the framework of current problems in the fields of geography, hydrology, meteorology, climatology, ecology, environmental protection and other related sciences, exchange of experience, attraction of talented young scientists to promising scientific fields, coverage of the integration of science and innovation in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The conference was attended by Chief Advisor to the UN Secretary-General on Climate Change, Chairman of the International Committee for the Global Energy Prize, Honorary Doctor of Moscow State University Raye Kwon Chung.

In 2007, as a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Raye Kwon Chung was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in “collecting and disseminating knowledge about anthropogenic climate change and developing the necessary measures to counter such changes.”

About 10 foreign scientists from Russia, Turkey, Japan, India, Tajikistan are directly and online participating in the conference.

Young scientists, masters and doctoral students are widely involved in this traditional conference. They are provided with the necessary conditions for scientific cooperation with prestigious scientists of our republic and abroad, internship in prestigious educational institutions of foreign countries.
